The National Testing Agency has revised the schedule for the April session of the Joint Entrance Examination Main 2026 and released the exam city intimation slips for candidates registered for Session 2. According to the latest update, the examination will now be conducted from April 2 to April 8, instead of the earlier announced date of April 9. The test will continue to be conducted in two shifts each day.
As per the revised schedule, Paper 1 for BE and BTech programmes will take place on April 2, 4, 5, 6, and 8. Meanwhile, Paper 2, meant for candidates seeking admission to BArch and BPlanning programmes, will be conducted on April 7. The agency has not provided a specific reason for reducing the examination schedule by one day.
Candidates appearing for the exam can now access their city intimation slips through the official website. The slip informs students about the city where their examination centre will be located, allowing them sufficient time to make travel and accommodation arrangements in advance.
To download the city slip, students need to visit the examination’s official portal. After opening the link for the Session 2 city intimation slip, they must log in using their application number and password. Once logged in, the document can be downloaded and saved for future reference.
Candidates should note that the city intimation slip only informs them about the location of their examination city. It will not be accepted as a valid entry pass to the exam centre. Students must carry their official admit card on the day of the examination.
The admit card will contain essential information such as the candidate’s name, date of birth, exam date, shift timing, address of the examination centre, and important guidelines to be followed during the test. The release date of the admit cards has not yet been announced, but it is expected to be issued shortly.
The entrance exam will be conducted in numerous cities across India as well as in 15 international locations. If candidates face any difficulty while downloading the city slip, they can reach out to the NTA helpline via phone or email for assistance.
