Three bright minds from Apeejay School, Noida have aced the JEE Main 2025 with outstanding percentile scores, placing them among the top engineering aspirants in the country. In a recent conversation, these high-achievers – Saharsh Bhardwaj, Panav Gupta, and Moloy Sikka  shared their strategies, motivations, and advice for students dreaming of cracking one of India’s toughest competitive exams.

Saharsh Bhardwaj, who scored an impressive 98.54 percentile, attributes his inspiration to family, friends, and his coaching mentors. “I got to know about IITs, and the career opportunities they offer fascinated me,” he said. With a strong passion for mathematics and a methodical routine, Saharsh starts his day at 6 am with a workout before diving deep into studies, mock tests, and rigorous analysis. “Revision is the key,” he shared, adding that he keeps his notes vibrant and engaging using multiple colours and highlighters to ensure better recall.

He advises aspirants to stay focused and undistracted during the crucial two-year prep phase. “There will be ups and downs – mock scores may disappoint – but don’t give up. Keep working hard because hard work never goes in vain,” Saharsh said. Currently preparing for JEE Advanced, he’s aiming for a future in Computer Science or Electronics and Communication Engineering, inspired by his interest in semiconductors.

Panav Gupta, scoring a close 98.4 percentile, shared that his inspiration for engineering stemmed from a keen interest in computers and the influence of his father. His routine included school followed by a short nap, then 4–5 hours of focused study divided between school curriculum and JEE material. He relied heavily on NCERT to build strong fundamentals.

To unwind, Panav played competitive games like Valorant. He used visual learning tools like Desmos and video resources to grasp difficult concepts. His mock test practice picked up pace in December 2024, with one test every two days. Passionate about Computer Science Engineering, he sees the future of tech in AI and automation. His advice to juniors? “Focus on concepts early using NCERT, solve questions regularly, and pace yourself instead of rushing at the end.”

Moloy Sikka, who secured a 98.35 percentile, is deeply passionate about theoretical physics but chose the engineering route for its stability and broader career opportunities. “I plan to pursue research in the long run, but engineering gives me a foundation,” he explained. His preparation involved 5–6 hours of daily study, focusing on solving previous year questions and clearing doubts promptly. Moloy also found balance through music – he sings and plays the guitar to unwind.

With over 25–30 mock tests per month, Moloy believes consistent practice is crucial. His favourite stream is Computer Science Engineering, stemming from his early love for coding and his leadership role in the school’s coding club. His advice? “Master your concepts from the start – especially in Physics and Chemistry – and practice rigorously in Math. That’s the winning combination.”
