Jalandhar Institute ushers in new academic journey with an inspiring induction programme ‘Aarambh 2023’

Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC) in Jalandhar organised a four-day induction programme named “Aarambh 2023” to warmly welcome its new batch of students. The event aimed at instilling a sense of camaraderie, providing practical knowledge, and nurturing well-rounded individuals to achieve success in their academic and professional journeys.

The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by a warm and inspiring welcome extended by Dr Rajesh Bagga, Director of AIMETC.He emphasised among students to nurture the attitude of gratitude, humanitarian outlook, and personal growth. He also shared about the legacy of Dr Stya Paul and focussed on ethical conduct and values.





The second day featured an expert talk by Mr. Ashwani Kumar, Chairman of FIEO’s Northern Region and Managing Partner at Victor Forgings, which centered on professional ethics and corporate culture. The session emphasised the crucial role of effective technological utilisation, maintaining a balanced routine, and avoiding intellectual stagnation. The day encompassed informative sessions on the student’s code of conduct, the institute’s academic curriculum, and illuminating insights into remarkable placement achievements and diverse industry sectors. These sessions were led by esteemed individuals including Dr. Kulwant Kaur, Dean of the School of Information Technology; Dr. Rajan Chaudhary, Dean of the School of Management; and Mr. Kanwal Gurleen, Head of Training and Placements, respectively. The day culminated with a comprehensive exploration of ERP systems and hands-on experiential learning activities, facilitated by Mr. Santosh Mishra, a System Engineer.







The third day unveiled a vibrant array of cultural events, featuring captivating poem recitations, melodious singing performances, and captivating dance displays. Esteemed motivational speaker Mr. Rohan Dutta shared invaluable insights on life skills and strategies for achieving success. Furthermore, practical tips and techniques for conquering competitive exams were proffered, with an emphasis on simplifying intricate calculations. Accomplished faculty members, Mr. Rohit Verma and Ms. Prabhjot Kaur from the School of Information Technology enriched the students’ arsenal with ingenious competitive exam strategies, simplification of complex calculations, and
confidence-boosting tactics for exam preparation. Their sessions underscored effective methodologies for managing and optimising preparation endeavours. Additional sessions highlighted the integration of practical content beyond the curriculum and the significance of experiential learning.











On the concluding day, accomplished alumni shared invaluable pearls of wisdom, emphasising the significance of knowledge acquisition, skill development, experiential learning, and blessings. Apeejay alumnus Saurabh Sethi from the MBA class of 2006 imparted six invaluable success tenets. His insights revolved around the accumulation of knowledge, skills, blessings, experiences, and unwavering focus and purpose. The exemplar of Dashrath Majhi was invoked to accentuate the power of dedication in accomplishing extraordinary feats. Another esteemed alumnus, Hitesh Dawar, hailing from the MCA program, bestowed students with potent ideas and actionable steps for launching successful ventures.








Further, Dr. Anu Sahi, Assistant Professor at the School of Management, delved into the Research Development & Consultancy Cell (RDC), unravelling diverse research approaches, the institute’s scholarly journals, and the pivotal role of the RDC Cell in facilitating robust research activities.
Assistant Professor Rahul Handa from the School of Management emphasised the importance of soft skills in professional programs. “In today’s interconnected world, soft skills play a pivotal role in success across various professional domain. These skills enhance interactions, communication, and overall work performance,” the Professor mentions.
Dr. Ajwinder Dhillon, Assistant Professor at the School of Management, shared profound insights into Leadership & Teamwork. He emphasised, “In dynamic and collaborative work environments, effective leadership and teamwork stand as cornerstones for individual, team, and organisational success.”
Dr. Avnip Deora, Dean of the School of Engineering, delved into the Department of Student Welfare and National Service Scheme (NSS). Dr. Deora shared, “These departments play an instrumental role in enriching the college experience, with a dedicated focus on student well-being and holistic development.”
Lastly, Mr. Rohit Verma, Assistant Professor at the School of Information Technology, highlighted the role of Institute Innovation Council (IIC). He said, “Under the aegis of the Government of India, and operating within the Innovation Cell of the Ministry of Education, the IIC is a potent catalyst for fostering an innovation and entrepreneurship culture among both students and faculty. The IIC fosters the cultivation of creative problem-solving skills and wholeheartedly encourages experimentation to tackle real-world challenges.”
Throughout the induction programme, students were exposed to a blend of inspirational talks, skill-building sessions, cultural performances, and insights into the institute’s vision and values. The event successfully achieved its goal of creating a sense of unity among newcomers, equipping them with practical insights, and nurturing holistic development for their academic and professional success.
