Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA) in Jalandhar marked World Radio Day by providing students from the Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication programme with an insightful exposure to the technical intricacies of radio presentation. The educational excursion took them to the premises of Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM.

The visit aimed to familiarise students with the live presentation processes and technical details involved in radio broadcasting. Divided into small sections, students received hands-on guidance from seasoned professionals at Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM, including RJ Hina, Shubham, and Promo Producer Bharat Arora.

Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra emphasised the significance of such practical exposures, stating, “Students gain a profound understanding of practical aspects when provided with real-world exposures and platforms. A visit to the Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM office significantly contributes to their comprehension of curriculum topics, helping them assess their potential and interest in pursuing a career as Radio Jockeys (RJs) in the future.”

During the interactive sessions, students delved into the technical aspects of radio presentation, learning the intricacies of speaking on the microphone while conducting radio programs. The professionals shared insights on maintaining voice clarity and effectively handling the microphone to enhance their on-air performance.

Expressing her appreciation for the initiative, Dr. Dhingra commended the efforts of Dr. Nivedita Khosla and Mr. Mohit for their guidance, urging students to continue their dedication and hard work. Such hands-on experiences not only supplement theoretical knowledge but also serve as a valuable tool for students to assess their suitability and passion for a career in radio broadcasting. The event successfully bridged the gap between theoretical learning and practical application, enriching the educational journey of the students at Apeejay College of Fine Arts.
