Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, recently organised an Orientation Programme to welcome new students to the institution. This program was meticulously planned and executed by various departments, including the Faculty of Languages, School of Social Sciences, School of Performing Arts, and Department of Journalism and Mass Communication. The primary aim of the orientation was to familiarise the new entrants with the college’s functioning, opportunities, and resources available to them.
Dr. Navjot S. Deol played a pivotal role in the event, providing students with a comprehensive overview of the college’s various activities and functions. She highlighted the numerous events, clubs, and extracurricular opportunities that students could engage in throughout their time at Apeejay. Emphasis was placed on the college’s unique feature of interdisciplinary learning, encouraging students to explore and develop their talents across different fields.

The orientation also introduced students to various student bodies within the college. These organisations play a crucial role in personal and professional development, offering platforms for students to enhance their leadership skills, build confidence, and participate in community service. Joining these student bodies was presented as a vital step in becoming well-rounded individuals and active members of the college community.
Further, Dr. Neerja Dhingra, Principal of the college, addressed the new students, urging them to take full advantage of the opportunities and platforms the college offers. She assured the students that the faculty and staff were dedicated to helping each student realise their full potential. Moreover, students were encouraged to enroll in skill improvement classes available at the college. These classes are designed to enhance various competencies, making students more competitive and better prepared for future career prospects. The orientation highlighted that these skill-building opportunities are not just optional extras but essential components of a well-rounded education that Apeejay College strives to provide.
The Orientation Programme was a comprehensive introduction to both the college and its faculty, ensuring that new students felt welcomed and informed. It set the stage for a fruitful and engaging college experience, emphasising the college’s commitment to fostering a supportive and dynamic learning environment.
