The bond between the Sehgal family and Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Jalandhar runs deep. With Mr. Bhanupartap Sehgal, his wife, and both sons—Rajveer and Jaiveer—all connected to the same alma mater, the school is truly a second home. Here, Mr. Sehgal shares his pride in watching the next generation flourish in the same nurturing environment that once shaped him.
Mr. Sehgal, describe the proud moment of seeing your children study at your alma mater?
It makes me very happy. It’s a proud moment that the second generation of our family is being groomed the same way I was. I even hope the third generation continues this legacy.
What makes Apeejay, Mahavir Marg sp special for you?
It’s not just a school, it’s a family. The teachers are experienced and affectionate, and there’s a sense of belonging—from the staff to even the canteen. The warmth and care make it unique.
Please share about your elder son Rajveer’s progress?
Rajveer passed out in 2022 with the non-medical stream. He’s a sharp student, though a little carefree. His fundamentals are clear, and today he’s pursuing IT engineering in Canada. He credits the school for a strong foundation.
And how is your younger son Jaiveer doing?
Jaiveer is in class 11 and he has opted for commerce. Despite some health challenges, he is doing well. He is especially talented in sketching and participates in drawing competitions at school.
What advice do you give your son, drawing from your own student life?
I tell him to enjoy every moment of his school life. Classes 11 and 12 are the golden years—you should live them fully. Be focussed on your studies and also have fun with your friends.
Looking at your family’s bond with the school, what comes to mind?
It feels like a beautiful cycle of continuity. My wife and I studied here, my elder son blossomed here, and now Jaiveer is growing here too. Apeejay Mahavir Marg is part of our family’s DNA.
