Amid rising Covid-19 cases in Maharashtra, children across the state returned to schools on June 15, 2022. Students have now finally commenced full-fledged offline classes in 100% capacity after two years ever since the Covid-19 pandemic hit India.
“As we get back to school, let us continue to learn with fun but also ensure our safety. Here’s wishing all of you a great academic year ahead,” Maharashtra School Education Minister, Varsha Gaikwad tweeted.
Last week, the state’s education department issued guidelines asking schools to ensure that teaching and non-teaching staff are fully vaccinated, including the precaution dose. It encouraged vaccination among children above 12 years of age. However, there is no face mask mandate yet in the schools.
