The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC), Jalandhar organised an insightful expert session on the theme “Changing Banking Scenario and New Career Opportunities.” The session aimed to familiarise students with the rapidly evolving banking landscape and to highlight emerging career prospects in the financial sector.
The programme was organised for students of the School of Management, providing them valuable exposure to contemporary developments in the banking industry. Addressing the gathering, Rajesh Bagga, Director of the institute, stated that the session was designed to offer a comprehensive understanding of the dynamic changes taking place in the banking sector. He emphasised that the industry is witnessing significant transformation due to technological advancements, digitalisation, and changing customer expectations. According to him, it is essential for students to stay informed about these developments so that they can effectively prepare themselves for future career opportunities.


The keynote address was delivered by Parmod Kumar Sharma, Former General Manager of Punjab National Bank. Drawing upon his vast professional experience, Dr. Sharma shared valuable insights into the transformation of the banking sector over the years. He discussed how digital technologies, online banking platforms, and financial innovations have reshaped traditional banking practices and created new avenues for professional growth.
During his address, Dr. Sharma elaborated on the increasing role of technology in banking operations, including digital transactions, mobile banking, and the integration of advanced financial technologies. He highlighted the growing demand for skilled professionals who possess both financial knowledge and technological expertise. He also encouraged students to develop analytical abilities, adaptability, and digital competencies to remain competitive in the modern banking environment.
