Indian professor publishes first collection of poetry

“My poetry is a reflection of my thinking and inspiration,” says Prof. Sandeep Singh, the poet and Head of Department of Punjabi at ACFA

Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA), an institution of its own kind was established to promote, proffer and propagate the rich art and culture of India. The aim was to nurture human values, value-based and skill-based education among the students, so as to endow them with a holistic personality.

Continuing this cultural and literary tradition of the college, Prof. Sandeep Singh, Head of  Department of Punjabi at ACFA, Jalandhar, recently published his first collection of poetry at South Asian Cultural Center, Oxford University.

The preface of the book was written by a prominent Punjabi poet, Padma Shri Dr.Surjit Patar, and Secretary of Punjab Kala Parishad, Shri Lakhwinder Singh Johal.

Talking about his poetic journey, Prof. Sandeep Singh shared, “My poetry is a reflection of my thinking and inspiration. It showcases the literary atmosphere of the family, their encouragement as well as support of colleagues and friends, who have always provided me with the inspiration to write.”

On this occasion, Dr. Neerja Dhingra, Principal at ACFA, congratulated him and said, “Literature always guides its admirers and readers about the various stages of life. I am hoping this book of Mr. Sandeep acts as an inspiration for our students too.”

The event was also graced by renowned writers from the UK.
