Indian professor conferred with prestigious ‘Iconic Leaders’ award

Dr. Anupama Diwan, Dean at School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Apeejay Stya University, Gurgaon, has recently been conferred with an ‘Iconic Leaders’ award ‘For creating a better world for all’ by the Women Economic Forum (WEF).  

The professor was awarded for her awareness and playing an active role on “Environment and Sustainability” in association with Women’s India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WICCI) and AKP Healing India.

At the Women Economic Forum, Haryana State President Dr. Anupama Diwan shared her views on “Indoor plant purifiers”. Another session was presented on “Medicinal Plants of India” by Dr. Amit Kaur Puri. Further, Environment conservator Dr. Rani Mansuri and other soul sisters across the world participated in interactive session on “Environment and sustainable living”, who came together with the purpose of fulfilling UN SDG’s by 2030.

Brainstorming with the influential global women leaders, Dr. Jasbir Kaur, National Vice President, Environment and Sustainable Living Council, presented a talk on “Urban Forestry and impact of literature on Environment Conservation”, and Mrs. Parul Kumar, North Delhi State President, delivered speech on “SDG15”.

Every year, Dr. Diwan along with her team and students at ASU organises a plantation drive to promote the cause of environmental conservation in which  they plant a variety of saplings at ASU’s Herbal Garden. As part of the community service, the team often visits to nearby villages across Sohna Palwal Road to distribute immunity booster tablet, conduct health checkups, impart education on women menstrual hygiene and more.

Dr Diwan has over 24 years of research and teaching experience and has mentored over 50 students and 10 PhD scholars for their research dissertation.
