Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has announced plans to expand Indian curriculum schools in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to better serve the large Indian diaspora and ensure the continuation of Indian educational and cultural values abroad. The Minister is on a two-day official visit to the UAE, aimed at strengthening educational partnerships and promoting innovation-driven collaboration between the two countries.

A major highlight of the visit was the inauguration of new academic programmes at the IIT Delhi–Abu Dhabi campus. Pradhan launched BTech and PhD programmes in Chemical Engineering as well as in Energy and Sustainability, expressing confidence that these courses will attract a diverse pool of global talent. He noted that the programmes are designed to prepare students for meaningful contributions in areas critical to global development.

Such initiatives, the Minister said, will not only enhance the reputation of IIT Delhi–Abu Dhabi as a centre of academic excellence and research but also strengthen India’s role as a global knowledge partner. The expansion of Indian curricula in the UAE is expected to provide quality education to thousands of Indian students residing there, while also serving as a bridge for cultural and educational exchange.
