The Interact Club of Apeejay School, Saket, in collaboration with Special Olympics Bharat, organised an inspiring Youth Activation Session with the children of Balvantrai Vidya Mehta Bhavan. The event aimed to nurture values of inclusion, empathy, leadership, and teamwork, principles that lie at the core of the Special Olympics Unified initiative.

The visiting teams from Balvantrai Vidya Mehta Bhavan and Special Olympics Bharat were warmly welcomed by Principal Dr Sujeet Eric Masih, along with the Interact Club mentors, Ms Neena Kaushik and Ms Nalini Malik. The session began with ice-breaker activities that encouraged open communication, trust, and confidence among participants. Through laughter and light-hearted engagement, students quickly bonded, setting the tone for an afternoon of learning and connection.

This was followed by a series of interactive games and group activities designed to promote teamwork and inclusive participation. Participants then engaged in motivational discussions focused on empathy, respect, and youth leadership, helping students understand the importance of supporting peers with intellectual disabilities.

The session also featured creative expression exercises, where children showcased their artistic and expressive talents, celebrating individuality and shared joy. Both Interactors and Special Olympics youth participated enthusiastically, creating moments of genuine understanding and friendship.

The atmosphere throughout the event was one of warmth and positivity. Each child was encouraged to express themselves freely, reinforcing the message that everyone has unique strengths worth celebrating. The initiative successfully embodied the spirit of ‘Inclusion for All’, inspiring young minds to become ambassadors of compassion, unity, and equality.

The day concluded with smiles, applause, and a renewed commitment among students to make inclusion not just an activity, but a way of life.
