Armaan, now promoted to Class 2 at Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, has had a remarkable journey through Class 1. His mother, Mrs. Yamini Khurana, speaks with warmth and gratitude about his academic evolution, the impactful role of a dedicated class teacher, and how the school creates a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child feels seen, safe and encouraged to grow.
How would you describe Armaan’s journey in Class 1?
It’s been absolutely fantastic! We were blessed with an outstanding class teacher who took personal interest in every child—not just academically, but in terms of their overall development. She ensured that each student participated in events, assemblies, and came out of their shell. I can honestly say the entire credit for Armaan’s growth goes to her.
Which subjects does Armaan enjoy the most, and which ones challenge him?
He’s naturally drawn to mathematics—problem-solving comes easily to him. Hindi has been a bit challenging, especially because he’s more comfortable in English. But thanks to the teacher’s patient efforts, he now reads and writes Hindi well. We’re still working on vocabulary and sentence formation, but the progress is visible and encouraging.
What extracurriculars has he taken part in, and where do his interests lie?
He shines in academic-based extracurriculars. He participated in Spell Bee and cleared all four levels—school, inter-school, state, national and even international! He also did well in Olympiads, winning gold medals. As for physical activities like skating or sports, he’s still warming up. He’s been in skating classes for two years but hasn’t quite got the hang of it yet. Still, he’s trying—and that’s what matters.
That’s great! He’ll keep rolling! So, how do you see his overall personality development?
He’s very intellectually inclined and curious. Whether it’s academics or competitions, he puts his mind to it. Though he’s a bit laid-back when it comes to sports, he’s disciplined in his studies and enjoys learning. The support from school has really helped shape his confidence.
How has your experience been with the school staff and environment?
Extremely positive. The staff is warm and attentive. Even the helpers and teachers from other classes know Armaan by name—which, as a parent, is so reassuring. It shows they’re personally invested in the children’s well-being. I truly feel he’s in safe, caring hands—not just inside the classroom but across the entire school.
