‘I love blending logic with imagination’

Math as a subject trains the mind to recognise patterns, visualise shapes, and analyse structures, which enhances creativity and precision, and that is how Krishita Gupta has cultivated patience, resilience, and adaptability. This Class III student of Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, shared in a candid interview that she won a Certificate of Appreciation at the recently held Math Quest at Apeejay School, Saket.

Share your recent achievement at Math Quest.

I took part in the Sacred-O-Geo-Art event at the Math Quest. I made a photo frame using a special geometry pattern, like a hexagon. I used recyclable decorative material to create the photo frame. I am proud because I completed it in the given time and decorated it beautifully.

What was your biggest learning from the event?

I learnt that Math can also be art. This competition encouraged me to use my love for art and craft to make pretty designs using shapes. I also learnt the importance of neatness and planning before starting.

What were the challenges, and how did you overcome those?

The challenge was choosing and arranging the shapes correctly so that the frame looked neat. At first, the pieces were not sticking properly, but I tried again and used glue carefully. I also reminded myself not to hurry and worked step by step.

How did Apeejay School support your journey in this?

My school encouraged me to participate, and my art teacher gave me ideas to create a beautiful frame. I was proud to represent my school. My teachers explained the rules clearly and motivated me.

How has math honed your holistic personality?

Math has honed my holistic personality by teaching me patience, problem-solving, and creativity. I enjoy applying mathematical concepts in fun and innovative ways, such as through art and patterns, which makes learning exciting. It has boosted my confidence, sharpened my thinking, and helped me see the beauty of logic and creativity coming together.
