Mannit Singh, a NEEET topper from Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, has a strong grip over what many students fear the most – Physics. For him, Physics wasn’t just another subject, but a passion that fuelled his preparation. In this conversation, Mannit offers insights for NEET aspirants on how to overcome fear, improve performance, and genuinely enjoy the subject. Read edited excerpts:
His clarity, consistency, and deep trust in foundational resources helped him turn Physics into a scoring opportunity. Here’s what he shared.
What made Physics your strongest subject during NEET preparation?
I found Physics genuinely interesting right from the beginning. It started with curiosity, then turned into practice. As I practiced more, I scored better, which motivated me further. It became a positive loop – interest led to practice, which led to good marks, which led to more interest. Eventually, Physics became my strength, and I never looked back.

Many aspirants fear Physics. What practical advice would you give them?
Firstly, there’s no shortcut. You have to practice regularly. There’s no magic formula for Physics – it’s a subject where consistent effort pays off. Secondly, listen to your teachers. They have years of experience, and they know how to guide you. I always followed the routine they suggested. From study schedules to even lifestyle habits, I trusted their word blindly. That reduced confusion and kept me focused.
Is there any particular topic in Physics that students should focus on more for NEET?
Rotational Motion is often considered tough, but honestly, you can’t skip anything. NEET doesn’t allow selective preparation – questions come from everywhere. Skipping even two or three chapters can cost you.
What study resources worked best for you?
NCERT is absolutely essential – there’s no second opinion on that. It should be your first and most important book. I also solved previous year questions regularly. I didn’t use extra reference books or go after difficult problem sets. Just mastering NCERT and the material I was given was more than enough. I remember one and a half questions in my exam came directly from NCERT’s back exercises – that’s how crucial it is.
