From acing her HR and Marketing specialization to landing a Talent Sourcer internship at Gartner, Shweta Seth has seamlessly blended passion with profession. With an unwavering love for HR since her graduation days, she honed her skills at the Apeejay School of Management (ASM), embracing public speaking, event management, and academic excellence. An active campus leader, she even bagged the prestigious ‘Mrs. Fresher’ title! In this exclusive conversation, she talks about her journey, learnings, and why HR and marketing make a perfect pair.
What are your key takeaways from your Postgraduate Diploma in HR and Marketing at ASM?
It has been an incredible academic journey! The curriculum covers a wide range of subjects, but specializing in HR gave me a deeper understanding of the field. Before this, I wasn’t aware of many aspects of HR, but now, I feel much more confident. The course also polished my public speaking skills and provided multiple opportunities for event organization, which further boosted my self-assurance.
What made you choose HR as your specialisation?
HR has been my passion since my undergraduate days. I’ve done several internships in Talent Acquisition, which solidified my interest in this field. I also chose to combine HR with marketing because it compliments my skills and allows me to take a holistic approach to talent acquisition and employer branding.

Why do you believe HR and Marketing are the perfect combination?
HR and marketing are deeply interlinked. As HR professionals, we don’t just hire people—we market our organization to potential candidates, showcasing its benefits and opportunities. The ability to communicate, persuade, and build relationships is crucial in both fields. This synergy between HR and marketing makes my role even more exciting.
How has your campus life at ASM shaped you?
ASM has been a hub of experiences for me. I have actively participated in multiple events, both as an organizer and a contestant. Winning the ‘Mrs. Fresher’ title was a highlight! Additionally, I was deeply involved in Synergy, our annual college event, where I contributed to sponsorship efforts. My team and I were even recognized as extraordinary contributors, which was a proud moment.
How was your academic experience at ASM?
Academically, I was one of the top scorers from the very first semester. The faculty, especially in the HR department, has been phenomenal. Their guidance and support helped me grasp complex HR concepts with ease, and I learned so much from their practical insights. The overall academic atmosphere at ASM has been nothing short of enriching.
With her blend of academic excellence, leadership qualities, and passion for HR, Shweta Seth is set to make waves in the corporate world. As she steps into her internship at Gartner, she is ready to leverage her learnings and embrace the challenges ahead with confidence and enthusiasm!
