The Investiture Ceremony at Apeejay School, Model Town, Jalandhar, was a proud and heartwarming celebration of leadership and responsibility. The event marked a significant milestone for the school community, as parents, students, and faculty came together to honour the newly elected members of the Student Council for the academic session 2025–26.
The ceremony aimed to instil a sense of accountability and purpose among students, empowering them to become role models for their peers. It served as a reminder that true leadership lies in service, commitment, and the ability to inspire others.
The programme began on a ceremonial note with the lighting of the lamp, symbolising knowledge and new beginnings. This was followed by a motivational video that set the tone for the event, highlighting the values of courage, dedication, and teamwork.

A soulful rendition of the song Make Me the Candle of Peace by the students created a serene and uplifting atmosphere. The performance reflected the deep sense of calm and compassion expected from the young leaders.
Oath-taking ceremony: A defining moment
The highlight of the day was the Oath-Taking Ceremony of the Student Council. In the presence of their proud parents and mentors, each member was conferred with a badge and sash, signifying their leadership roles. The honours were bestowed by the school’s Principal, Dr Rajesh Kumar Chandel, who praised the students for their achievements and potential.
In an emotional gesture, parents of the council members were also invited on stage, making the moment even more memorable. This not only acknowledged the support of the families but also strengthened the bond between home and school.
The Head Boy led the council members in the oath of office, formally inducting them into their new responsibilities.
The newly elected Student Council members are as follows: Senior Wing: Head Boy (Abhiraj Agarwal), Head Girl (Aastha Kapoor), Vice-head Boy (Shaleen Kalra), and Vice-head Girl (Saanvi Mahajan). Junior Wing: Junior Head Boy (Suhaan Sharma), Junior Head Girl (Mishti Saini), Junior Vice-head Boy (Hayan), and Junior Vice-head Girl (Ganeev Kaur).


The newly elected House Council members are as follows: Aravali House: House Captain: Aliya Kaul, Vice House Captain: Aarush Gupta, and Cultural Captain: Japanjan Kaur. Nilgiri House: House Captain: Gaurish Behl, Vice House Captain: Mannat Chitra, and Cultural Captain: Pranjal Khanna. Shivalik House: House Captain: Manya Goyal, Vice House Captain: Arshiya Dua, and Cultural Captain: Avni Oberoi. Vindhya House: House Captain: Devanshi Bansal, Vice House Captain: Kaveesh Nagpal, and Cultural Captain: Chahat Tayal.
Words of encouragement and gratitude
The Principal, Dr Chandel, congratulated the young leaders and encouraged them to lead with integrity, humility, and courage. He reminded them that being a leader means being a role model and serving others with sincerity.

The Vice-principal of the school, Mrs Priyanka Grover, extended heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of the event. She appreciated the hard work of the staff and the enthusiasm of the students. The ceremony was graced by the presence of Mrs Namrata Sharma, Headmistress, Primary Wing, and Ms Nidhi Ghai, In-charge, Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld, Jalandhar, adding to the occasion’s warmth and significance.
The event concluded with the school song, followed by the National Anthem.
