To commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar, the visionary architect of the Indian Constitution, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, organised a vibrant and thought-provoking series of activities for students of Classes VII to IX on April 8, 2025.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation in three main activities — poster designing, collage making, and letter writing. Each activity was designed to encourage students to delve deeper into the life and ideals of Dr. Ambedkar. With brushes, pens, and paper, the young learners brought forth their admiration and respect for the social reformer, highlighting his monumental contribution to the upliftment of marginalised communities and his relentless pursuit of justice, equality, and education for all.

The poster designing and collage making segments turned the classrooms into hubs of creativity, as students portrayed powerful imagery and slogans reflecting Dr. Ambedkar’s vision of an inclusive India. Meanwhile, the letter-writing activity provided students a reflective space to express personal gratitude and share how Dr Ambedkar’s ideals continue to inspire their aspirations and actions in contemporary times.

“The poster making session was organised by Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, for Class VII students to commemorate the life and works of Dr BR Ambedkar. The session aimed to inspire students to learn about Dr Ambedkar’s contributions to social justice, equality, and education. The students enthusiastically participated in the poster-making session, showcasing their creativity and understanding of Dr Ambedkar’s legacy. They designed posters highlighting his achievements, struggles, and philosophies. The students drew inspiration from Dr. Ambedkar’s remarkable journey, his fight against social inequality, and his emphasis on education. The facilitators provided guidance and support, encouraging students to express their ideas and creativity through their posters,” Ms A Dasgupta, TGT Social Science Coordinator, shared.

These activities not only fostered artistic expression but also nurtured a deeper understanding and appreciation of Dr. Ambedkar’s enduring legacy. Teachers and mentors encouraged students to explore historical facts, discuss societal change, and engage with the values of democracy and social justice.

The event successfully instilled a sense of pride and awareness among the students, reminding them of their role in carrying forward the principles championed by Dr. Ambedkar. It was a heartfelt tribute by the students of the School to a man whose ideas continue to shape modern India.
