Recently, Apeejay School, Model Town, organised a Dental Health Camp to create awareness about oral hygiene and encourage students to adopt healthy dental practices as a part of their daily routine. Recognising that good oral health is an essential component of overall well-being, the initiative focused on educating students about preventive dental care and the importance of maintaining a confident, healthy smile from an early age.

The school was privileged to host Dr Sheenam Uppal, MDS (Endodontics), who conducted the camp with great expertise and warmth. During the session, Dr Uppal carried out comprehensive dental check-ups for the students, carefully assessing their oral health and identifying common dental concerns. Her interactive approach ensured that students felt comfortable and engaged throughout the process, turning what could have been a routine medical check into a positive and reassuring experience.

In addition to the check-ups, Dr Uppal shared valuable insights on proper brushing techniques, the importance of flossing, and the role of a balanced diet in maintaining strong teeth and healthy gums. She also highlighted common dental problems such as cavities and gum infections, explaining how simple preventive measures and regular dental visits can help avoid long-term complications. The session encouraged students to become more mindful of their oral hygiene habits and to take personal responsibility for their dental health.

The camp proved to be both informative and impactful, especially for younger students, as it instilled awareness at a formative stage. Teachers and school authorities appreciated the initiative, noting that such health-focused programmes play a vital role in shaping lifelong habits among children.

Overall, the Dental Health Camp at Apeejay School, Model Town, was a meaningful step towards promoting health consciousness within the school community. By combining professional guidance with practical learning, the school reaffirmed its commitment to the holistic development and well-being of its students, one healthy smile at a time.
