What inspired you to participate in Hindi debates and Olympiads?

Hindi has always been close to my heart. It’s my mother tongue, and I grew up reading Hindi stories. The language is very powerful—it allows me to express myself in a way that’s uniquely my own. That’s what inspired me to take part in Hindi debates and Olympiads.

Could you share some highlights of your achievements so far?

Last year, I won a Silver Medal in the Hindi Olympiad. This year, I participated in the Senior Level Zonal Hindi Debate Competition, and along with my teammate, secured the third position. Our next round will be held in November, and we are already preparing for it enthusiastically.

How do you prepare for debates?

Practising in front of a mirror, my teachers, friends, and parents really helps. It boosts my confidence and helps me refine my expressions. Once I start speaking on stage, my nervousness fades away and my confidence grows naturally.

Which aspect do you focus on more—content or delivery?

Both are important. Strong content makes your argument credible, while delivery keeps the audience engaged. After I’m confident about my content, I focus more on my delivery—my tone, gestures, and clarity.

How do you manage time between academics and extra-curriculars?

Time management is crucial. I consciously separate time for debates and Olympiads apart from my academic schedule. I try to give equal attention to both so that neither one suffers.

What are your goals for the upcoming competition?

My goal is to give my best, regardless of the outcome. I want to learn from every experience and keep improving my skills without disappointing anyone.
