For every parent, the first year of school is filled with curiosity, hope and a little nervousness. At Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld, GK-2, New Delhi, that transition becomes smoother with a nurturing environment and engaging activities. In a candid conversation, Ms Manisha, mother of Nursery student Alekh, shares her experience of her child’s journey so far.
Read edited excerpts:
How has Alekh adjusted to the school environment in his first year?
Alekh has adjusted very well. It has been about a year, and he seems quite fond of his teachers and friends. What makes me happiest is that he loves going to school. I’ve never seen him reluctant in the morning. He feels happy and comfortable there.
As a parent, what changes have you noticed in his development?
There has been a clear improvement in his communication skills. He started learning and writing in school, which has been wonderful to see. Academically, I feel satisfied with his progress. His confidence has grown, especially in expressing himself at home.
What activities does Alekh enjoy the most at school?
He enjoys playing with his friends and looks forward to music class. He talks fondly about his music teacher. At home, he also shows interest in painting, drawing and writing, so I feel the creative activities at school are supporting his interests.
We hear he is part of the annual function. How is that experience for him?
Yes, he is preparing for the annual function and is playing the role of a dolphin. He has dialogues to memorise. At home, he confidently tells us his lines and shows us his dance steps. While he may be a little reserved in class, I’m sure the teachers are encouraging him in their own way. It’s lovely to see him excited about participating.
How would you describe the teachers and overall school environment?
The teachers are warm and approachable. Whenever we ask for updates, they are responsive and helpful. The school environment feels caring, which is very important for young children.
Overall, how would you sum up your experience at Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld, GK-2?
I feel positive about Alekh’s journey so far. He is learning, growing and most importantly, happy. For a parent, that reassurance means everything.
