Due to continuous rainfall and severe water logging, several cities have implemented a
work-from-home policy and temporarily closed schools. In Delhi, as well as parts of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh, educational institutions have been shut down to ensure the safety of students and staff members.

The Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal, took to Twitter to announce the closure of schools in the national capital. In his tweet, he stated, “Considering the heavy and incessant rains in Delhi over the past two days, and as per the warnings issued by the Meteorological Department, all schools in Delhi will remain closed for a day starting from tomorrow.”

In Gautam Budh Nagar district, Manish Kumar Verma, the District Magistrate, tweeted that all schools affiliated with various boards would be closed for classes 1 to 12 on July 10.

The heavy rainfall also had a significant impact on Gurugram, leading to the closure of both private and government schools, including play schools. The district administration further recommended employees in the corporate sector to work from home due to the obstruction caused by heavy rains on crucial roads, parks, underpasses, and markets.

Similarly, the Ghaziabad district administration has issued instructions for the closure of all private and government schools from July 10 to July 16. Previously, the Ghaziabad district magistrate had already declared a holiday for schools in the district from July 12 to July 15, taking into account the Kanwad Yatra.
