Healthy smiles, happy students

With a smile that speaks volumes about one’s health, Apeejay School, Rama Mandi, Jalandhar, took a thoughtful step towards promoting oral hygiene and preventive healthcare by organising a Dental Check-up Camp for its students. The initiative was a part of the school’s continued commitment to nurturing healthy habits and holistic well-being among young learners. 

A team of expert dentists from a reputed dental clinic conducted detailed dental examinations for students across various grades. During the camp, the doctors educated students on the correct brushing techniques, the importance of flossing, and maintaining a balanced diet for strong teeth and gums. They also addressed common dental concerns such as cavities, plaque, and tooth sensitivity, providing personalised advice to each student. 

The interactive session helped children understand that a healthy smile isn’t just about appearance; it reflects good hygiene, confidence, and overall wellness. The dentists emphasised that regular dental check-ups play a vital role in preventing oral diseases, detecting issues early, and ensuring proper dental development during the growing years.

The school Principal, Mr AK Sharma, appreciated the initiative, commending the efforts of the dental professionals and the school’s health department. He encouraged students to take these learnings seriously, saying that “a beautiful smile is the first step to good health and positive self-esteem.”

The Vice-principal of the school, Ms Loveleen Bagga, extended heartfelt gratitude to the visiting dental team for their time and dedication in spreading awareness among students and staff. She remarked that such health awareness drives instill responsibility and self-care habits from an early age.

The dental camp not only enhanced students’ knowledge about oral hygiene but also reinforced Apeejay School’s core belief that education extends beyond academics, encompassing every aspect of personal growth and well-being.
