On February 9, 2025, students from Apeejay School, Kharghar, had the opportunity to showcase their scientific knowledge at Science Utsav 2025. Organised by the Navi Mumbai Science Foundation and Pillai College of Engineering, the event took place at Shree Gujarat Samaj, Sector 15, Vashi. This exhibition was a hub of creativity, allowing students to display their projects and engage in interactive Science-based activities.

The school sent two teams to participate in the event — one from Class VI and another from Class IX. These young scientists worked diligently to prepare their exhibits, presenting their innovative ideas with confidence and enthusiasm.

Class Contributions

Manasvi Mane and Sonia Kulkarni (Class IX) demonstrated a model of the Rutherford Atomic Model, explaining its structure and significance in understanding atomic theory.

Swarnim Istha and Vedant Singh (Class VII) engaged the audience with a practical demonstration of phototropism and geotropism in plants, illustrating how plants respond to light and gravity.

Their presentations were not only informative but also interactive, sparking curiosity among visitors and judges alike.

Enhancing Scientific Skills

Science Utsav 2025 was more than just an exhibition — it was a learning experience. Students got the chance to improve their research skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Preparing for the event encouraged them to think beyond textbooks and explore scientific concepts in a hands-on manner.

The exhibition also helped students develop communication skills, as they explained their projects to attendees, judges, and fellow participants. The ability to express scientific ideas clearly and effectively is an essential skill, and this event provided the perfect platform to nurture it.

The event played a key role in bridging the gap between theoretical learning and real-world application. Through their projects, students experienced how science is not just about learning facts but about observing, experimenting, and applying concepts to everyday life. The diverse range of exhibits showcased at the event offered students a chance to learn from one another and gain new perspectives on scientific phenomena.

A Valuable Learning Experience

The utsav left a lasting impact on all participants. It not only fostered a scientific mindset but also inspired students to pursue their passion for innovation. By engaging in hands-on activities and witnessing a variety of projects, students expanded their understanding of the subject while enjoying the process of exploration.

The event proved to be an excellent platform for young minds to shine, reinforcing the idea that science is all around us, waiting to be explored. Apeejay School, Kharghar, continues to encourage such enriching experiences, nurturing the next generation of scientists and innovators.
