Green and cracker-free Diwali

Diwali is known as the festival of happiness. Diwali lights symbolise a time to purge all evil thoughts and desires, drive out all ominous forces, and revive our passion for doing good deeds.

We often associate Diwali with firecrackers. But is it right? My answer would be NO. Firecrackers may give us temporary happiness at the moment, but they are taking many lives as well. Pollution caused by them increases the risk of respiratory infections and heart diseases. There are both long-term and short-term damages. It not only affects humans but also many animal and bird species. It is high time that we, as a people, acknowledge the issue and create a path forward so that we can establish a balanced and healthy environment.
We can use eco-friendly crackers and enjoy the festival without harming Mother Earth. Instead of exchanging firecrackers, exchange thoughtful, eco-friendly gifts. We can manage Diwali waste efficiently. There are many alternatives to firecrackers. It is not only possible to celebrate Diwali without crackers, but it is also a great way to do it. It’s an opportunity to spread joy, love, and light across your society and heart without endangering the environment.
Thus, let’s shine this Diwali with environmentally conscious festivities and transform into eco-warriors for a more cheerful, clean, and brighter world. “This Diwali, let’s embrace a green and clean celebration.” Wishing everyone a happy and “cracker-free” Diwali!
शुभ दीपावली!
