Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, echoed with joy and affection as the Pre-Primary Section celebrated Grandparents’ Day. The day was devoted to honouring the invaluable role grandparents play in shaping young minds with their love, care, and timeless wisdom.
A warm and affectionate welcome
The celebration began with a traditional welcome, as grandparents were greeted with tilak, smiles, and heartfelt applause. This thoughtful gesture immediately set the tone for the morning – one filled with warmth, respect, and family bonding. A soulful prayer ceremony followed, invoking blessings for the good health and happiness of all grandparents, highlighting the school’s belief in nurturing values of gratitude and reverence among its young learners.
Creativity, learning, and shared moments
The little learners expressed their love through melodious Diwali songs, which brought smiles and teary eyes to many grandparents. The festive mood continued with a lantern-making craft activity, where grandparents and children worked hand in hand, blending creativity with togetherness. Teachers guided them through the process, turning the classroom into a colourful workshop of imagination and joy.

The collaborative craft session not only encouraged artistic expression but also reinforced experiential learning — where children learned the values of teamwork, patience, and appreciation for family bonds. Each handmade lantern became a beautiful reminder of how learning extends beyond books and classrooms, finding meaning in shared experiences.
Games, dance, and tokens of love
Fun-filled games and interactive activities added a cheerful sparkle to the day. Grandparents enthusiastically participated, their laughter echoing through the hall as they played alongside their grandchildren. The highlight came when the little ones lovingly presented hand-decorated diyas to their grandparents — a touching symbol of light, gratitude, and affection.

The event reached its grand finale with a vibrant Diwali dance performance by the children. Their lively moves and glowing smiles filled the atmosphere with celebration and joy. The moment was beautifully captured in a group photograph, symbolising the unbreakable bond between generations.
A celebration of values and lifelong learning
The day concluded with a warm refreshment session, where grandparents and their grandchildren shared stories, laughter, and snacks. It was not merely an event — it was a meaningful lesson for the young students on love, respect, and family values.

Through this celebration, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, once again reinforced its commitment to value-based education. The Grandparents’ Day served as a reminder that learning is not confined to classrooms — it thrives in relationships, traditions, and the small, tender moments shared between generations.
