The Class V Graduation Day at Apeejay School, Nerul, marked a significant milestone in the academic journey of young learners, as they prepared to move from primary to middle school. Such ceremonies hold importance, as they recognise not just academic progress but also the personal growth, confidence, and independence developed during the early years of schooling. The event brought together school leadership, parents, and students to reflect on this transition and its larger role in shaping future learning.

The programme was graced by Dr Asoka Kumar Das, former Vice-chancellor, Utkal University, who attended as the Chief Guest. The event also saw the presence of Dr Kartik Pande, Consultant Orthopaedic, Trauma and Joint Replacement Surgeon and an alumnus of Apeejay School Nerul (batch 2011), as Special Invitee. Their presence added depth to the occasion, connecting classroom experiences with long-term aspirations.

The ceremony began with a formal floral welcome and felicitation of the dignitaries by Mr P Subhash, Principal, Apeejay School, Nerul. This was followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. The ceremony symbolises the triumph of knowledge and wisdom. An invocation dance by the students set a composed and reflective tone for the programme. The sequence reflected a balance of tradition and student participation while also encouraging stage confidence among young learners.

Voices that guided and inspired

Dr Das spoke about the value of education and the importance of staying committed to learning. He emphasised curiosity and consistent effort as essential for progress. Dr Pande shared his journey as a former student and highlighted the role of discipline and self-belief. His presence offered students a relatable example of how school years shape future paths.

The school Principal, addressed the gathering and acknowledged the efforts of students, teachers, and parents. He encouraged students to remain curious and approach the next stage of learning with confidence. His remarks placed the ceremony within the broader journey of continuous growth.

The programme featured a musical presentation and a dance drama titled Garden of Uniqueness. The performance highlighted the idea that every individual is different and has their own strengths. The audience responded positively to both the creativity and the message.

A key moment of the ceremony was the graduation of students from Classes V-A to V-D, who received their certificates on stage. The prize distribution segment also recognised achievements across academics and co-curricular activities.

The Head Boy and Head Girl reflected on their experiences in the primary section and expressed gratitude to their teachers. Their reflections added a personal dimension to the ceremony.

Looking ahead

As students move forward, the ceremony served as a reminder that early school experiences form the foundation for future learning and responsibility. The event concluded with a ‘vote of thanks’ by Primary Coordinator Ms Manisha Upadhyay. She expressed sincere gratitude to the Chief Guest, Special Invitee, school management, Principal, teachers, parents, and students for their support and contribution in making the event a grand success.

The ceremony concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
