‘Fun-based teaching is practiced at Apeejay Greater Noida’

Mrs. Priyanka Kandwal is a homemaker. Her husband, Mr. Shakti Bhatt, is the Director at Agatos, an industrial automation company. Their son Ivaan Bhatt is a nursery student at Apeejay School, Greater Noida.  In a brief interview, Mrs. Kandwal highlights her son’s gradual acclimatisation with the school and how teachers make learning more fun and interesting for young learners

Why did you choose Apeejay School Greater Noida over other schools for your child’s admission?

I got very good reviews about the school. When we shifted to Greater Noida, I had no idea about the schools here. During Ivaan’s admission time, I started enquiring about different schools. I asked my neighbour’s kids, (they are very intelligent by the way) and they told me clearly that Apeejay Greater Noida is the best school in the area. They had tried for this school as well but unfortunately, couldn’t get through. I applied and we had an online interview with Sarita ma’am, the Principal of the school. The interview went very well. So, we finalised on this school.

Please tell us about Ivaan and take us through his progress at the school?

Ivaan is a very mischievous boy. He loves music a lot. He loves to make his own songs and sing. He likes to dance as well. Due to the pandemic, we did not have much social interaction, so he was initially a little hesitant to go to the school. He wanted his parents all the time with him. He used to cry when we would drop him to the school. But Nisha ma’am, his class teacher, would always tell me that she would handle everything. She is a brilliant teacher. Whenever I went to pick Ivaan from the school, he would always come out smiling, very happy wearing all the hats and caps that Nisha ma’am would make for him.

Are the teachers engaging well with the students?

There is fun-based teaching practiced at the school. If the child doesn’t want to write in the book, Nisha ma’am gives the kid a chalk and asks him/her to write on the floor. Sometimes, Ivaan comes home with chalk marks and writing on his shoes (laughs).

What is the best thing about the school?

In other schools or in my alma mater itself, if my parents wanted to meet the Principal, they had to take numerous appointments and undergo long waits that used to be tedious. But here, we can approach Sarita ma’am anytime. We just have to tell at the reception that we would like to meet the Principal. Sarita ma’am is very cordial and an amiable person. Same is the case with all the teachers, they are always a text away.
