Iconic film director John Ford had once said, “You can speak well if your tongue can deliver the message of your heart.” In sync with this assertion, students of Apeejay Svran Global School, Faridabad, participated in the Inter-School Declamation competition recently organised by Manav Rachna International School.
Participation in such activities enhances the students’ critical thinking faculties and improves their communication skills, thereby making them confident and versatile. The competition included declamation events in both English and Hindi for different class categories.
The events in the competition included ‘Rhyme Recitation’ for nursery and kindergarten students; ‘Just A Minute’ (rhyme recitation) for class 1 and 2 students; ‘Poetry Recitation’ for students of class 3; ‘Monologue’ for class 4 and 5 students; ‘Poetry Recitation’ for class 6 students and ‘Elocution’ for students of class 7 and 8.
Apeejay Svran Global School students brought laurels to the school in both languages.
Dhruv Pandit of class 1 secured the first position in ‘Just A Minute’ rhyme recitation in English. He recited a rhyme on the topic ‘What is beautiful about the world’.
Adhiraj Bhattacharya of class 5 won the first position in Hindi Monologue. He performed a monologue on the topic: ‘Plastic bag: They use me and then blame me’.
Shaurya Dhankhar of class 8 bagged the third position in English elocution. He spoke on the topic ‘A second chance’.
Shaurya Arora of class 7 won the first position in Hindi Elocution. He spoke on the theme ‘If time travel were real’.
The Principal, Mrs. Deepika Arora, congratulated and appreciated the efforts put in by the young, energetic and eloquent orators.

“Inter-school Competitions help students to hone their skills and exhibit the edge they have in presenting their thoughts. We at Apeejay Svràn Global School believe in providing a culture where the students can deliver the message of their heart. Therefore we strive to provide our students with an environment of confidence, acceptance and constant development. ”
