‘From studies to self-discipline, my son is evolving steadily’

When it comes to shaping not just academic performance but also personal growth, Apeejay International School, Greater Noida stands tall. For Divas Gupta, a Class 11 Commerce student, the journey from being a shy student to someone preparing confidently for a career in law has been guided by the school’s constant encouragement and personalised support. In a telephonic conversation, his mother shares how the school has played an essential role in his development.

How has Apeejay International School supported Divas in his academic journey and future aspirations?

The school has been a great support system, especially as Divas has started planning his future. Recently, Apeejay organised counselling sessions for students. It was a wonderful initiative to help students navigate their career choices. Divas wants to pursue law, and even though he is still exploring which specific branch to go into, these sessions gave him clarity.

The teachers here are not only academically sound but also very approachable. If a student is struggling, they provide individual attention and help build their confidence. We are also hopeful that the school will guide him further as he begins his law entrance preparation.

What role have the teachers played in Divas’s personal development?

The teachers at Apeejay have been instrumental in shaping Divas’s confidence and communication skills. Though he is introverted and doesn’t take initiative easily, the teachers always push him positively. For example, he was once appreciated during an online reading session. His teacher encouraged him to speak on stage, saying he read very well. These small moments give students like him a much-needed confidence boost. He may be hesitant initially, but when given a task like a debate or a speech, he prepares thoroughly and performs well. It’s heartening to see how the teachers recognise students’ potential and help them grow.

How has your experience been as a parent with the school leadership and communication with teachers?

One of the things I admire most about Apeejay is how approachable the Principal ma’am is. In other schools, it’s hard to get an appointment, but here, she welcomes parents warmly and is always ready to listen. She genuinely cares about the students and their progress. We’ve studied in other schools too, so I can confidently say this level of involvement is rare. Even during PTMs, the teachers are well-informed about each child’s growth and give useful suggestions.

Have you noticed any significant changes in Divas since joining Apeejay?

Absolutely. Divas joined the school in Class 8, and over the years, we’ve seen a noticeable change in his overall personality. He has become much more independent and confident. He now travels alone from Noida to Greater Noida, which is a big responsibility. Managing this journey daily shows how much he has matured, and I believe the school’s environment has contributed a lot to this transformation. From studies to self-discipline, he is evolving steadily.
