In almost all civilizations of the world, you will find a saying about the result of hard work. Truly, the results of hard work are never lost and Class 12 students from Apeejay School, Rama Mandi in Jalandhar just reaped the reward of their year-long hustle.

Start from day one

School topper Sumit Singh Johal scored a whooping 91.6% in the CBSE Class 12 Board exam. The student from Commerce stream attributes this success to his family, teachers, and the Almighty. He says, “The school and my family supported me at each and every moment and helped me get such a good result. I would start studying daily at 10 am and would continue till 9 pm. I took a 15 minute break after every one and a half hours.”

The aspiring entrepreneur adds, “I was the strongest in English and Business Studies and very weak in Accountancy. So, I studied the subject from the very basic level as well as asked my doubts frequently to teachers and friends. In due course of time, I developed a good hold over the subject.” He further mentions, “I would advise all to study from the beginning of the session. If you start from the middle of the year, you will focus only on important topics and lose out on the basics.”

Hard work and perseverance

A similar pragmatic advice is offered by second highest scorer, Yugta, who is a Civil Service aspirant. The 89.8% holder says, “I want to serve my country by becoming an IAS officer. This was my late grandfather’s dream and is mine as well.” Yugta adds, “I studied for about 5 hours in the beginning of the session. Slowly the hours went up to 12 hours before the exams.”

The student from the Science (Medical) stream believes the secret to a good result is hard work and perseverance. She mentions, “If you want good results then patience and passion are a must. Follow the notes given by teachers, focus on your test series, and ignore social media for some months.”

Consistency is the key

The third highest scorer Disha wants to become a Mechanical Engineer. The student from Science (Non-medical) stream amassed an amazing 83.8% in the CBSE Class 12 Board examination. She says, “I started my preparation from the first day of the session, and was consistent the whole year. However, my preparations were accompanied with a little enjoyment every day. Every evening I would be doing some activity such as gardening or playing badminton.” She also adds, “I would like to advise every student to be consistent in their work, but to also have some time for fun and physical activity.  This will keep your mind fresh and active thereby helping you in your preparations.”
