The students of Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication set out on an unforgettable journey through the cultural heart of Rajasthan, immersing themselves in the sights, stories and spirit of Udaipur, Haldighati and Chittorgarh. What began as an academic excursion quickly turned into a vivid experience of history unfolding beyond the classroom. As the group gathered, excitement rippled through the air.
Conversations flowed, expectations soared, and students spoke of the adventure ahead. “It felt like we were about to step into a world we had only seen in pictures,” one student recalled. Their arrival in Udaipur felt almost cinematic. The first glimpse of the city, its shimmering lakes framed by rugged hills left the group mesmerised. The hotel check-in was followed by a full day of exploration, beginning at the majestic City Palace. Walking through its courtyards and mosaic-lined corridors, students felt as if they were travelling back centuries. Sunlight filtered through intricately carved windows, casting patterned shadows on the marble floors. “It was like moving through a living painting,” a student said.

The group then made their way through the bustling lanes leading to Jagdish Temple, where the sound of temple bells mingled with the fragrance of incense. A visit to Fateh Sagar Lake brought breezy serenity, while Saheliyon ki Bari with its fountains and lush green lawns felt like a secret garden preserved for royal leisure. Students deeply enjoyed the poetic sunset of Udaipur. The next day took the students to the historic landscapes of Haldighati. The earthy yellow soil, famously associated with the legendary battle of Maharana Pratap, seemed to whisper stories of courage and sacrifice.
At the Maharana Pratap Museum, students watched animated recreations and exhibits that brought the past vividly to life. “Seeing the battlefield in person made the history feel immediate and real,” one participant shared. Chittorgarh awaited the group next, rising proudly against the horizon. The vast fort complex, its towering gateways, expansive courtyards and storied monuments left the students awestruck. Walking through Padmini Palace, they pictured the tales that shaped Rajasthan’s collective memory.

The Vijay Stambh soared skyward, a symbol of triumph and resilience, while the serene Kirti Stambh offered a quiet reminder of devotion and artistry. “Every stone here feels like it holds a story,” a student remarked while standing atop the fort, taking in the sweeping views of the city below. By the time the group returned to Delhi, they carried with them more than photographs. They returned with stories of shared laughter on hotel balconies, thoughtful conversations during sightseeing, and the collective experience of witnessing history in its raw, real form. Friendships deepened, perspectives widened, and classroom lessons gained richer meaning. “It wasn’t just a trip,” Prof. Ankit Kumar Malyan reflected. “It was a journey through time, through landscapes, and through moments that we’ll remember long after our academic year ends.”
