‘From fall to spring’: Poem by Khushi Sharma, ACFA
Published
2 years agoon

In between Autumn’s preparation,
The leaves weep, thinking of the long predicted separation
They have now dried with the loss of water,
Weeping has caused their life to be shorter
With the setting sun, the leaves were determined
To hold on to their dear life, oh! the attempt was nice
But with the rising sun, the cool breeze marking the arrival of fall
Made all the poor leaves fall
On the feet of their mother,
On the ground, to be stepped on,
One after another.
But as the leaves had tried
The hope hasn’t died.
The mother has so many new leaves yet to bring
This hope makes her wait for dear spring.
And the leaves smile to their mother from below, as they know
Their separation won’t go vain,
As after this painful separation,
They’ll be born again.
