Amrita Prasanna, a class 5 student at Apeejay School, Kharghar, is a brilliant artist. Her hand is well-trained when it comes to natural sceneries and she displays great potential to reach heights in art. In this week’s Apeejay Aspiring Artist interview, the young artist from Kharghar briefly mentions her artistic side and love for learning new art forms. Read edited excerpts:

Since when did you start drawing?
I have always been fond of art. My parents say, I started drawing on walls ever since I was a toddler.
Which art form is your favourite and why?
I like painting with acrylic colours. I love to experiment by mixing colours and creating different shades.
How does your school support you as an artist?
My teachers are very supportive. They provide various opportunities that help us students showcase our skills. They encourage us to participate in all competitions and events.
What is your definition of art?
Art provides me with an avenue to express my imagination and feelings with colours.
How much time does it take you to complete an artwork? What are your common ideas and themes?
I usually take about 3-4 hours to complete an artwork. I like to paint natural sceneries and forms of Gods and Goddesses.
Upcoming artworks?

Presently, I am working on a lake scenery
A new art form you wish to learn?
I wish to learn all the major Indian art forms like Madhubani, Patachitra, etc.
Any other hobbies apart from art?
Playing badminton, reading story books and making small figures from clay.
