Recently, the students of Class XII at Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, delved into the complex and pressing issue of global trade tensions through an engaging discussion on the topic, ‘Has Trump Started a Trade War’? The interactive session provided a dynamic platform for students to explore the real-world impact of political decisions on global and Indian economies, tying in seamlessly with their academic curriculum.
The event was designed to encourage critical thinking, research, and public speaking among students. Participants came well-prepared, having conducted extensive research on US President Donald Trump’s trade policies, including tariff impositions, trade agreements, and their ripple effects across international markets. The session witnessed enthusiastic participation, where students presented their insights and interpretations through compelling PowerPoint presentations.

One of the highlights of the session was the engaging debate that followed the presentations. Students confidently took the stage to voice their opinions, back them with factual data, and interject with thoughtful counterpoints. The debate touched upon key aspects such as US-China trade relations, protectionism, globalisation, and how such shifts in trade policies impact developing nations like India.
The interjections and counterarguments reflected not only their depth of understanding but also their ability to think critically and communicate persuasively. Each student brought a unique perspective, making the discussion a rich tapestry of economic analysis, political viewpoints, and global awareness.
The activity proved to be more than just an academic exercise — it served as a bridge between textbook learning and real-world economic scenarios. Students were able to draw direct connections between global policies and the principles they study in economics and commerce classes. The event significantly boosted their confidence, improved their public speaking skills, and fostered an environment of healthy intellectual exchange.

Teachers commended the students for their dedication, research efforts, and maturity in handling such a nuanced topic. It was heartening to witness young minds take on global challenges with such clarity and confidence.
By offering students a stage to voice their views on international economic affairs, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing informed, articulate, and socially aware citizens. The event not only broadened the students’ understanding of the global economy but also prepared them to engage thoughtfully with the world around them.
