Meet Anant Tripathi, a talented student from the School of Design & Visual Arts at Apeejay Stya University (ASU), Gurugram, who is making waves in the design industry. Currently in his final semester of the Bachelors of Design and Graphics program, Anant has already gained significant professional experience. His resume boasts collaborations with giants like Apple and Samsung during his tenure at Zopper, where he led projects that blended creativity with innovation. Let’s dive into his inspiring journey in this exclusive interview:

Anant, tell us about your experience working with Zopper and the projects you handled.

When I joined Zopper, my role initially focused on designing Amazon carousel visuals to boost individual product sales. But soon, I found myself working with renowned brands like Godrej, Apple, and Samsung.

For Godrej, we developed designs to enhance communication within their vast internal network. This involved creating data sheets, brochures, posters, and even marketing videos. The challenge was to design for both executives and technicians while maintaining accessibility and clarity.

The most exciting project, however, was Apple’s Get India Moving Campaign. The campaign encouraged physical wellness by integrating the Apple Watch into daily fitness goals. Designing for Apple meant aligning with their strict brand guidelines, creating responsive emailers, and crafting easy-to-understand manuals for resellers and customers alike. It was a unique experience working directly with Apple’s team and solving challenges like communication barriers for 13,000+ resellers across India.

What was it like leading Apple’s Get India Moving Campaign?

It was exhilarating! This initiative aimed to promote wellness rather than just sales, making it distinct. I had the chance to work with Apple’s high-ranking officials, studying their design ethos and integrating it with Zopper’s goals.

We created presentation decks, emailers, and manuals that were accessible to everyone, from tech-savvy users to first-time customers. The highlight was designing responsive content that maintained Apple’s aesthetic on devices ranging from iPhones to 4K projectors. Despite the challenges, the campaign was a success and a testament to the power of thoughtful design.

How has your time at Apeejay Stya University shaped your design journey?

The university built my foundation in design principles. Before joining, I had a surface-level understanding of design. Here, I learned about the importance of accessibility, color psychology, and the process of creating user-centric designs.

The guidance from my mentors was invaluable. They taught me to approach design thoughtfully, starting with sketches on paper before moving to software. This structured methodology helped me handle real-world challenges confidently.

Any advice for aspiring designers at Apeejay Stya University?

Focus on the basics! Understand design principles, study accessibility, and explore the psychology behind visuals. Keep experimenting and be open to challenges. Every project, no matter how small, is an opportunity to learn and grow.
