The journey of a technophile often begins with a spark—and for Shreyas, it ignited at Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park. A 2023-2024 batch alumnus, he looks back at his formative years with warmth and clarity. Now pursuing B. Tech in Computer Science Engineering at Bennett University, he credits his school for the values, structure, and early learnings that carved his path. In this candid interview, he shares fond memories of classrooms, cricket, coding—and the foundation of his future. Read edited excerpts:
Tell us what subjects or ideas fascinated you during your school years.
Science always had my heart, probably because of my father’s influence—he came from a science background. I remember being intrigued by websites, IIT talks, and futuristic tech stories from him.
Did Apeejay Panchsheel Park help you channel this interest into something concrete?
Absolutely. The school introduced the basics—like HTML and computing—though I didn’t take CS in 11th-12th. But the exposure was there, and it helped later on.
Were your teachers approachable when you struggled with anything?
Totally! Whether it was a concept I didn’t get or a deadline I missed, I always had someone to reach out to. They really made me feel seen and supported.
What did you enjoy apart from academics?
I wasn’t into too many sports, but I did play some cricket. What I really enjoyed was playing Casio. Music gave me joy, and the school encouraged even such small hobbies.
What advice would you give to a student who wants to pursue engineering from Apeejay?
Start with the basics. Strengthen problem-solving skills and maybe brush up on computer languages like Python or HTML early—it helps later in college.
Has AI influenced your college life now, the same way science once did in school?
Definitely. AI is transforming how we learn and work. In fact, I discussed how it’s both a blessing and a challenge in another conversation—it really is everywhere now!
Finally, one thing you’d say Apeejay Panchsheel Park gave you that still stays with you?
A sense of structure. Whether it’s discipline, curiosity, or accountability—I carry that every day into my college and future plans.
