From Average Fresher to Top-Ranking Achiever: Lessons from My College Journey

When I first stepped into Apeejay Stya University, I was just another average student, unsure if I could manage the long daily commute, demanding classes, and the pressure of adapting to a new environment. Many freshers, whether in college or entering the professional world, face the same uncertainty. What I didn’t realize then was that this challenge would become the foundation of my growth.

Balancing six hours of travel with rigorous coursework required discipline, resilience, and a clear focus. Over time, I not only managed my academics but also explored opportunities beyond the classroom. Participating in competitions and cultural events like singing, dancing, mimicry, elocution, and debate helped me develop confidence, leadership, and communication skills. Alongside, I co-authored a research paper and published book chapters, experiences that taught me the value of dedication and perseverance.

The real turning point came when I understood the importance of applying theoretical knowledge to practical situations. Faculty members like Neha Thakur, Dr. Akanchha Singh, and Dr. Shraddha Agarwal guided me academically, patiently resolving my doubts and pushing me to achieve more. Dr. Sonam Raheja and Shatakshi ma’am nurtured my extra-curricular talents, helping me take the stage and realize my full potential. My close friend Manya Arora was a constant support, motivating me during challenging moments and helping me stay focused.

Apeejay Stya University offered more than just lectures—it provided an environment where learning extended beyond classrooms. The library, peer interactions, and experiences during travel taught lessons about time management, collaboration, and adaptability. Every challenge, every competition, and every late-night study session contributed to shaping a student ready to meet industry expectations.

Today, as I work professionally, I realise the value of this holistic development. My academic performance, extracurricular achievements, research papers, and book chapters together make me a strong candidate for any opportunity. For anyone joining Apeejay, the message is clear: focus, perseverance, and willingness to learn can unlock results beyond imagination. Every moment spent here builds not just a degree but a foundation for a confident, competent, and well-rounded professional.
