Freddy- A film review

Film Name: FREDDY (2022)

Genre: Psychological Thriller

Introduction: I watched a film that was recently released on Disney + Hotstar. This film was ‘Freddy’ which was directed by Shashank Ghosh and starred Kartik Aaryan and Alaya F.

Plot: ‘Freddy’ is a story about a dentist, who is an introvert and afraid of socialising with people due to a horrifying past. He has only one friend with whom he shares all his secrets, sorrows, happiness and that is his tortoise ‘Harry’. He is always in search of his dream girl, but because of his shy and introverted nature, he is never able to approach any. Suddenly, his life changes when he meets Kainaaz Irani (Alaya F) who comes to visit him as a patient. One night, everything changes in Freddy’s life and in his behaviour because of the unexpected plot twist.

My Opinion: In my opinion, this film is a ‘must watch’ at least once in life. The suspense of the film will not let you move from your place. This film is especially for those who stereotyped Kartik Aaryan that he can only do comedy films. This film will definitely change your perspective toward him. The character of Kartik Aaryan in the second half of the film will blow your mind and especially in the climax.  Alaya F is also good in this film. This is her 2^nd film after Jawaani Jaaneman which starred Tabu and Saif Ali Khan. Alaya F possess brilliant acting skills and I believe she will grow in this film industry.

Freddy is a well-crafted film in terms of cinematography, character building and screenplay. Direction was a little bit missing from the film. In my opinion, the BGM was going nicely whenever the main character changes his personality.

I was really disappointed when I heard earlier that this film was not getting distributors. You can’t miss the fact that this film was definitely a theatre experience rather than OTT. Again, I would say, the character of Freddy was just made for Kartik Aaryan and the atmosphere, moments, and plots are just incredible in my opinion.

My Verdict: You don’t have to pay any amount for a ticket, just sit wherever you’re comfortable in your home. Click on Disney + Hotstar, and without thinking twice watch the movi, especially for Kartik Aaryan.
