The National Service Scheme (NSS) wing of Apeejay Stya University (ASU), Gurugram organised a vibrant flower plantation cum gardening activity on the university campus, fostering environmental awareness and teamwork among students. The event, spearheaded by the NSS Programme Coordinator Dr Vijay Kumar, saw enthusiastic participation from NSS volunteers who were divided into groups of five, each tasked with planting flower saplings to beautify the campus and contribute to a greener environment.

The activity turned into an exciting competition, with the group planting the maximum number of saplings declared the winner. After a spirited effort, the group led by Nahida and included Sonam, Kanchan, Grace and Vanshika emerged victorious, earning accolades for their dedication and efficiency. The winning team was celebrated for their outstanding contribution, setting an inspiring example for their peers.

Following the plantation drive, students gathered to reflect on their experience, sharing valuable insights about teamwork, environmental responsibility, and the joy of giving back to nature. The hands-on activity not only enhanced the aesthetic appeal of the university but also instilled a sense of pride and purpose among the volunteers.

Speaking about the event, Dr Vijay Kumar, NSS Programme Coordinator remarked, “This activity was a wonderful opportunity for our students to connect with nature and understand the importance of collective effort. It’s heartening to see their enthusiasm and the meaningful lessons they’ve taken away from this experience.”

Apeejay Stya University continues to promote such initiatives under its NSS wing, encouraging students to actively participate in community service and environmental sustainability efforts. The success of this event is a testament to the university’s commitment to holistic education and social responsibility.
