The Dr Stya Paul Memorial Inter-school Competitions at Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri continue to motivate young minds

On November 30, 2024, the second day of the Dr Stya Paul Memorial Inter-School Competitions was zealously conducted at Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri. This annual event is a tribute to Dr Stya Paul, Founder-Chairman, Apeejay Stya and Svran Group, and embodies his inspiring journey as a visionary educationist, philanthropist, and industrialist. Known for his resilience in overcoming physical challenges, Dr Stya Paul’s life continues to motivate countless young minds to aim for excellence and embrace holistic growth.

The competitions, initiated in 2011, were designed to celebrate the spirit of creativity, teamwork, and perseverance in students. In his welcome address, the Principal Dr Vineet Vasishtha shared profound insights into Dr Stya Paul’s values and contributions. He highlighted how this event serves as a guiding light for students, encouraging them to pursue moral and cultural enrichment alongside academic achievements.

Dr Vasishtha emphasised the importance of such platforms in shaping the future leaders of society. “The Dr Stya Paul Memorial Inter-School Competitions inspire students to strive for excellence while embracing cultural and moral values. Events like these nurture creativity, teamwork, and self-expression, aligning with our mission of holistic education,” the Principal shared.

The day’s highlights

The key attractions of the day were the Chess Competition and the Solo Dance Competition, both of which drew enthusiastic participation. While the chess players showcased their strategic acumen in designated classrooms, the vibrant dance competition unfolded in the school auditorium. 

The theme for the Solo Dance Competition was A Song that Highlights the Values and Culture of Their School, offering students a creative platform to express pride in their institutions.

Seven talented dancers from various schools captivated the audience with their artistry and creativity. Their performances were not only a feast for the eyes but also a moving reflection of the values cherished by their schools. 

The esteemed judges for the event, Ms Vandana Sharma and Ms Seema Hadda, commended the participants for their dedication and effort. The results of the Solo Dance Competition were as follows: First Position: Jiya and Vanshika (class V, Aryans Model School); Second Position: Harsh (class IV, Aryavrat School); Third Position: Natasha (class V, Aryavrat School); Consolation Prize: Snehal (Class 5, DRK Adarsh Vidya Mandir). The judges applauded the participants for beautifully integrating culture and values into their artistic expressions.

Fostering a spirit of recognition

Following the performances, Principal Dr Vineet Vasishtha, along with the judges, distributed prizes and participation certificates. Schools received participation trophies as a gesture of appreciation for their involvement, and the judges were presented with tokens of respect for their valuable contributions.

The programme concluded with the National Anthem, filling the atmosphere with pride and joy. Participants, faculty members, and guests left with hearts brimming with fulfilment, celebrating a day dedicated to talent, culture, and holistic growth. 

The second day of the Dr Stya Paul Memorial Competitions was a testament to Apeejay Education Society’s unwavering commitment to fostering excellence in young learners. By offering students opportunities to explore their potential, this event honoured the legacy of Dr Stya Paul and reinforced the values of perseverance, cultural pride, and resilience.
