Harsh Sah, 23-years-old, recently completed his post-graduation from the School of Biosciences (SBS), Apeejay Stya University (ASU), Gurugram, earning his M.Tech in Biotechnology with distinction. During his final year, he specialised in Medical Devices Regulatory Affairs at the esteemed Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST), Thiruvananthapuram. “My decision to pursue this course was not sudden. Since my 2nd year of undergraduate studies, I developed a strong passion for building a career in Regulatory Affairs, particularly in the MedTech sector. This was inspired by my internship experience, where I worked on developing a paper-based genosensor for early detection of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), bacterial, and viral infections,” he emphasised further adding, “I noticed a gap between companies and regulatory bodies in terms of efficiency and compliance. This experience ignited my interest in Regulatory Affairs.”
Given his passion, interest, knowledge, Harsh has been one of the first candidates to bag a job offer from Auxien Medical Pvt. Ltd., a leading MedTech firm specialising in orthopaedic and arthroscopic medical devices, with a global footprint across 75+ countries. Read edited excerpts of his interview to know more:
Why did you choose Apeejay Stya University? What have been your key learnings?
I chose ASU for its integrated B.Tech + M.Tech course, affordable fee structure, mentor-student framework, liberal arts-based curriculum, and strong brand reputation in Delhi NCR. These five years (2020–2025) have been transformational—from a curious learner to a confident professional, and from Harsh to Mr. Sah. I evolved into a passionate regulatory affairs specialist during this time.

Tell us about your placement offer. Where was it, and how did you prepare?
I received a pre-placement offer in May 2025 from Auxien Medical Pvt. Ltd. as Assistant Executive – Regulatory Affairs. The selection was the result of 365 days of intense preparation. SCTIMST played a vital role in this—through divisional presentations, departmental discussions, and support from faculty. I delivered 20+ presentations, attended workshops, and reviewed over 120 research articles to build strong technical knowledge and confidence.
How do the teachers encourage you to learn new things?
The faculty at ASU’s School of Biosciences have been incredible. I still remember a Biopharmaceuticals class, where I was first introduced to regulatory concepts. Special thanks to Dean sir for his mentorship and impactful advice: “If you want success, there are only two ways—either be the best or be the first.” I’m also grateful to all the teachers for believing in my abilities.
Your future plans
As Winston Churchill said, “Success is not final, failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts.” My future plan is to keep evolving, embrace success and failure alike, contribute to the MedTech regulatory field, and eventually become a thought leader in this space.
