In line with its commitment to fostering comprehensive development, Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA), Jalandhar, recently organised an enriching industrial visit for the first-year students of Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA). The endeavour aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, empowering students to grasp the nuances of the industrial landscape.
Under the guidance of esteemed mentors, Dr. Sabina and Ms. Rashim, the enthusiastic cohort of BBA students visited the Verka Plant in Jalandhar. The visit proved to be an invaluable opportunity for them to witness and understand the intricacies of the production process for dairy products such as milk, butter, ghee, and cream.
The students actively engaged with the industrial set-up, immersing themselves in the production, packaging, and marketing aspects of diverse products. The experience provided first-hand insights into the operational dynamics of a real-world industrial scenario, complementing their academic learning.
Dr. Neerja Dhingra, Principal of ACFA, emphasised the significance of such practical exposure and stated, “Traditional classroom settings can only offer a limited perspective. tTherefore, activities such asindustrial visits can help in providing students with a broader understanding of their respective fields.”
Dr. Dhingra commended the efforts of the Department of Commerce and Management for successfully organising the industrial visit and encouraged them to continue such initiatives in the future.
Smriti, a BBA 1st-semester student, said, “This industrial visit to Verka was organised for the students of BBA first semester by the MAC forum. We all had an enriching experience. We received first-hand information regarding the manufacturing, processing, and packaging of milk, curd, and cheese, etc. We were very excited as we practically experienced the whole process. The overall experience for was so fun and educational.”
Another BBA student, Grace, shared, “The visit to Verka was a fascinating and informative experience. We learned about the milk processing industry, saw the various stages of milk production, and even got to taste some of Verka’s delicious dairy products. It was a great opportunity for students to learn about the dairy industry. We also came to know about various techniques used by the Verka plant to manage the whole industry. Overall, it was a fun and educational experience for everyone.”
