In a serene and prayerful setting, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, organised a havan yagna on February 7, 2026, seeking divine blessings for the students of Classes X and XII appearing for their Board exams. Conducted in the school’s open courtyard, the ceremony brought together over 100 students, their parents, teachers, coordinators, and members of the school leadership in a collective moment of reflection, faith, and hope.
Organised by the school management, the havan was led by an external priest who guided the proceedings with traditional Vedic rituals. The ceremony began with a Ganesh pooja, invoking the remover of obstacles, followed by the lighting of the havan kund. As sacred chants echoed through the courtyard, students participated in the offering of flowers and ahutis, marking their prayers for clarity, focus, and inner strength.
A significant part of the yagna was the navgraha pooja, during which the pandit explained the relevance of the nine planetary forces and their symbolic presence within the human body. He shared how these grahas are believed to influence mental balance, discipline, confidence, and emotional stability, qualities especially crucial for students preparing for exams. The explanation helped students connect ancient wisdom with personal well-being, making the ritual both meaningful and reflective.
The ambience throughout the ceremony remained calm and devotional, with students sitting in quiet concentration and parents observing with folded hands. Teachers and coordinators stood alongside the students, reinforcing a sense of reassurance and collective support. The poorn ahuti marked the culmination of the havan, symbolising gratitude and the completion of prayers offered for success and harmony.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice-principal Ms Vandana Bansal encouraged students to prioritise their well-being during the exam period. “May the sacred fire bless you with clarity of thought, inner strength, and peace of mind. As you prepare for your exams, trust your efforts, remain focused, and give your best. Take care of your physical well-being through a balanced diet and adequate hydration. Equally important is your mental health; stay calm, positive, and confident. Let discipline, faith, and determination guide your journey ahead. Your teachers and the school stand firmly by your side at every step. I wish you great success, good health, and a bright future,” she said

A parent of two Class X students, Mrs Babita Rawat, found the havan deeply comforting. “The positive energy and prayers created a sense of calm at a stressful time, reassuring both students and parents that with faith, support, and guidance, this phase will pass smoothly,” she said.
With a similar sentiment, Mrs Nisha Sharma, whose daughter is in Class XII, shared, “I found the havan ceremony deeply meaningful and reassuring. It created a calm, positive atmosphere for the students and encouraged them to focus on their studies with faith and confidence. As parents and teachers, we all hope our children remain centred, disciplined, and give their best during this important phase.”
The pandit, too, gave advice to the students. He asked to stay focused and have self-belief. The ceremony concluded with the collective singing of the bhajan, filling the courtyard with a sense of peace and unity. As the students dispersed, there was a visible calmness and renewed determination, reflecting the spirit with which they are set to approach their Board exams.
