Learning research methodology is essential for many reasons. Firstly, it equips individuals with the skills to critically analyse information, enabling them to make informed decisions and separate reliable knowledge from misleading claims. Secondly, it fosters a systematic approach to problem-solving and empowers individuals to conduct their investigations, expanding knowledge in their field of interest. Thirdly, research methodology enhances analytical and critical thinking abilities, encouraging intellectual growth and academic rigor. Additionally, it prepares individuals for careers that involve data analysis, evaluation, and evidence-based decision-making. Ultimately, understanding research methodology cultivates a deeper understanding of the world, encourages intellectual curiosity, and contributes to the advancement of knowledge and society as a whole.

Thus, understanding the importance of possessing knowledge on research methodology, the Research Development and Consultancy Cell at Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC) in Jalandhar recently hosted an interactive session on Research Methodology.
The aim of the session was to enhance the research skills and knowledge of faculty members and provide them with the necessary tools and techniques for conducting high-quality research.
The resource person for the session was Dr. Harvinder Singh, Professor at IMT, Ghaziabad. Dr. Singh talked on various key areas of research such as research methodologies and approaches, how to understand research design and hypothesis formulation, data collection techniques and instruments, statistical analysis and interpretation of results, ethical considerations in research and publishing and presenting research findings.
He also explained, “Data collection in research is crucial as it provides the empirical foundation for analysis and conclusions. It enables researchers to gather objective evidence, validate hypotheses, and uncover patterns or trends. Data collection also ensures accuracy and reliability”
Further, Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director, at AIMECT appreciated the efforts of the Research Development and Consultancy Cell. He said, “For any organisation to grow, research is the major area and such efforts help in the professional advancement of the faculty. Undoubtedly this workshop was of great benefit to the faculty.”
