We all have heard of the adage practice makes a man perfect. But Aditya Kushwa, an alumnus of Apeejay School of Management (ASM) says that saying is 100 per cent true. Talking about his journey, Kushwa said that he pursued an MBA in Finance from ASM because of his affinity for playing with numbers. “It has always been a defining trait for me,” he shared and added that at present he is working in Gurugram as Manager of credit & Risk, with Faircent.com.
“The finance sector has always been my forte,” Kushwa said and underscored the significance of following one’s passion with the motive of achieving what one may desire in a candid interview.
Tell us about yourself.
For the last two-and-a-half years I have been an integral part of Faircent.com working as Manager, Credit & Risk. In addition to managing risk aspects, I also play a pivotal role in handling strategic partnerships, an essential component within the company’s framework.
Is it what you always wanted to pursue in your career?
I had a longstanding passion for numbers since my formative years. Transitioning into my current role at Faircent.com, I have gradually increased my engagement with finance, evolving and nurturing my interest in the field over the years.
What motivated you to choose this career path?
Hailing from a business background, my journey into the realm of commerce began in class XI, where I developed a keen interest in Accountancy. I also took the exam for Chartered Accountancy but without success. Therefore, I redirected my path, pursued an MBA, and decided to make a career in the finance sector forging a valuable and enriching career outside the traditional academic trajectory.
What were the common challenges associated with your journey?
Entering the finance sector poses initial monetary challenges as compensation may be modest in the early stages. However, with years of experience, there has been a substantial career boost. In a nutshell, the career choice is amazing but the landscape is quite competitive.
Was ASM the right institute that helped you hone your skills?
Apeejay School of Management has played a pivotal role in shaping my professional journey. I hold immense appreciation for the dedicated faculty who consistently guided and supported me at every stage. Their mentorship has been highly imperative in molding me into the professional I am today.

Engaging in extracurricular activities at college like the Finance Club enriched my college experience, providing insights into the finance industry. I also created many memories by hanging out with my friends on the college campus, making those days truly special.
