Exploring beyond classrooms for meaningful lessons

With the belief that true education transcends textbooks and classrooms, Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri, organised a transformative educational tour to Naahan, a scenic gem nestled in the serene Sirmour Valley of Himachal Pradesh. Held from May 31 to June 3, 2025, this experiential journey provided students with not just a refreshing retreat but also a golden opportunity to learn through exploration, nature, and cultural immersion.

A spirited group of 61 students, filled with curiosity and excitement, embarked on the tour under the guidance of dedicated faculty members — Mr Ashok, Mrs Renu Sharma, Mr Sandeep Kumar, and Mrs Sonu Sangwan. Their meticulous planning and compassionate supervision ensured the safety, learning, and enjoyment of every child.

As students arrived in Naahan, they were instantly captivated by the lush green landscapes, crisp mountain air, and panoramic views of the Himalayas. Far removed from the hustle of city life, the peaceful surroundings provided an ideal backdrop for introspection, bonding, and joyful discovery.

Throughout the trip, students took part in a vibrant mix of activities — from nature walks and local sightseeing to dancing, singing, and team-building games. These engagements helped develop camaraderie, leadership, and communication skills, reinforcing the values of cooperation and respect. Students also delved into the regional culture and ecology, learning about the native flora and fauna and gaining insights into the environmental significance of the Himalayan belt.

A special highlight of the tour was the inspiring presence of School Principal Dr Vineet Vasishtha, whose heartfelt interaction with the students left a lasting impact. By encouraging them to observe, question, and reflect, Dr Vasishtha nurtured their natural curiosity and motivated them to develop a deeper connection with their surroundings. His words of wisdom and personal attention created an atmosphere of warmth and inspiration.

Sharing about his trip experience, Dr Vasishtha expressed, “Educational tours are powerful tools of learning beyond classrooms. Our recent visit to Naahan was a great experience where students gained exposure, explored nature, and strengthened bonds with peers and teachers. It was heartening to see their enthusiasm, curiosity, and joyful participation.
