The day 4 of the Orientation Programme at Apeejay Stya University (ASU) in Gurugram was a vibrant mix of enlightening sessions, interactive activities, and opportunities for new students to engage deeply with the university’s culture, academic structure, and extracurricular landscape. The day’s agenda was thoughtfully crafted to provide students with a thorough understanding of the university’s operations, educational philosophy, and the various avenues available for personal and professional growth.

The day commenced with an engaging lecture by Prof. (Dr.) Chetan Choudhary, Registrar of Apeejay Stya University. Dr. Choudhary delivered an insightful presentation that highlighted the fundamental differences between institutes and universities, specifically focusing on what sets ASU apart in the higher education sphere. He explained the broader scope, autonomy, and academic freedom that a university like ASU offers, emphasising its innovative curriculum, strategic industry partnerships, and commitment to holistic education.
Dr. Choudhary also shed light on the numerous Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) ASU has with various industries, facilitating valuable opportunities for internships, placements, and research collaborations. His lecture provided a clear overview of the university’s administrative hierarchy and the pivotal role of the Registrar’s Office in maintaining smooth academic and operational processes. He concluded with an overview of the robust placement cell at ASU, dedicated to securing top-tier positions for students in leading companies.
Following this, Ms. Risheka Dhawan, an Advocate and Legal Consultant and the Managing Partner at MR Lexcorp, led a crucial session on the legal framework surrounding sexual harassment in educational institutions. Ms. Dhawan outlined the procedures and channels available for reporting incidents, emphasising ASU’s strict zero-tolerance policy on harassment. Her session underscored the university’s commitment to creating a safe, inclusive environment where every student feels respected and secure.

The morning continued with an interactive team-building session led by Ms. Panchali Moitra and Ms. Samiksha Verma from the Crack ED Team. This session engaged students in activities designed to foster collaboration, communication, and teamwork, reinforcing the importance of these skills for academic and professional success.

After a refreshing lunch break, the focus shifted to the academic system at ASU. Prof. (Dr.) Amit Kumar Goel delivered a comprehensive session on ASU’s academic approach, rooted in a liberal arts education. He emphasised the value of interdisciplinary learning, encouraging students to explore beyond their major fields of study. Dr. Goel provided insights into the flexible, student-centric curriculum at ASU, designed to cater to individual interests and career aspirations.
Further elaborating on the importance of a liberal arts education, Dr. Ananda Pradhan, Dean of the School of Education, reinforced its value in today’s dynamic world. Following this, Dr. Parikshit Vashisth, Controller of Examinations, explained the ASU Credit System and Examination System, ensuring students were well-informed about academic expectations and policies.



The day also featured an introduction to ASU’s vibrant cultural and sports activities. Dr. Sonam Raheja and the student team highlighted various cultural clubs, while Dr. Mahesh Sharma encouraged participation in sports for a balanced lifestyle. Student Aastha shared her positive experiences with the Rotaract Club, inspiring others to join in community service.


The day concluded with a fun and engaging Treasure Hunt Activity organised by Dr. Sangeeta Taneja, helping students explore the campus and build camaraderie with their peers.
Overall, Day 4 of the Orientation Programme at Apeejay Stya University was a tremendous success, filled with informative sessions, active participation, and opportunities for students to integrate into the ASU community.
