Expert discusses importance of building research skills among MBA  students

Understanding research methodology is pivotal for MBA students as it equips them with the skills to critically analyse business problems, make informed decisions, and contribute to academic and professional discourse. Proficiency in research methodology enhances their ability to conduct market research, analyse trends, and formulate strategic solutions. This knowledge is fundamental for MBA graduates, enabling them to navigate the complex landscape of business challenges with analytical rigor and evidence-based decision-making.

And Apeejay School of Management (ASM), Dwarka , Delhi is ahead when it comes to preparing students holistically. Therefore, the MBA school recently invited Dr. Gautam Bapat, Associate Professor and Program Director, School of Business, MIT World Peace University, Pune, for a special guest lecture on the topic research methodology. 

Attended by PGDM first-year students, the guest lecture was coordinated by Assistant Professor Anuj Kumar.  

Introducing the attendees to the topic, Dr. Gautam Bapat discussed the importance of various tools and techniques that are used in quantitative and qualitative research methods. 

Previously, Dr. Bapat had also co-authored two Scopus papers with ASM students. He discussed the concept of metaverse and how emerging technologies are changing the whole world. He also focused on the importance of research writing.

Sharing his thoughts, Dr. Gautam Bapat expressed, “It was exciting to meet Prof. Kumar as he is continuously mentoring me in research writing and publication. I thoroughly enjoyed delivering this session. The students were very interactive.”

Further, participants had a fulfilling experience. Amandeep Singh, a PGDM student, said, “It was our honour to listen to Dr. Bapat, who highlighted the importance of research certification and developing research skills for getting good placements in the final year. We are looking forward to it.”

Another PGDM student Nancy Sharma said, “I enjoyed working on the research papers with Bapat Sir and Anuj Sir. It was great learning, and I am looking forward to improving my research writing by following their instructions.”
