Sam Siryon, currently pursuing BA. LLB Honours at the School of Legal Studies, Apeejay Stya University (ASU), Gurugram, is Liberian by nationality, having keen interest in Criminal Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution. An aspiring Human Rights and Social Justice Activist, he chose Apeejay Stya University due to its conducive learning environment, student-friendly campus and a capacity that ignites student’s performance and personal development.
“Coming to India to pursue a degree in Law was one of the best choices I have made. India is noted to have the lengthiest constitution in the world, vast laws covering almost every aspect of a career in law. It is like drawing from the fountain of legal knowledge and is resourceful as it exposes me to vast career options,” he emphasised.
Learning at its peak
He further mentioned how he has been developing highly transferable skills like critical thinking, analysis and communication throughout the course of his studies. “I have developed strong analytical research, negotiations and public speaking skills which are essential for my career as an aspiring Human Rights and Social Justice Activist, “ he added.
When asked how Apeejay Stya University is nurturing his professional development, he expressed, “In my honest opinion, it is a place where learning meets its peak and only the strong would survive. It is strategically positioned and its remoteness is a uniqueness. There is nothing that could easily derail students from learning, the campus is 24/7 internet access, quiet but interesting school surroundings, free from harassment, and most importantly, having professors who are always guiding you at every stage of your learning, encouraging and supporting you at any time.”
He also said, “These professors are not just instructors, they are shepherds, campus-parents and role models; depicting their lives as living examples for us to follow, illustrating selflessness at the extreme only to ensure that we have a secure future to contribute to national development. At the hostel level, it is far more interesting where our health, safety and security is the top priority of the Wardens.”
The Apeejay student is gaining immense experience in interacting with students and faculties from diverse backgrounds where he is not only building connections but also experiencing multiculturalism as everyone at ASU celebrates in unity, the diversity of individual cultures and its inherent uniqueness.
He suggested, “For international students wishing to join us at Apeejay Stya University, this is a campus where the ultimate goal of our Professors is to transform students into nation builders and to create an environment where every student can thrive and explore his full potential. I appreciate the Administration of Apeejay Stya University, the Dean and Faculty at the School of Legal Studies and all Professors who have inspired me to keep thriving and soaring high because excellence is the nature of ASU.”
